  • Tactile Mixer reccomendation

    hello all

I just ordered a bluebox and I am very excited to get my hands on it, however I have obnoxiously tactless large hands and I noticed on a video someone controlling their tracks with a mixer that seemed to be controlling the levels/EQ on the bluebox. If anyone has a recommendation for a mixer suitable for this purpose I would really appreciate it! Something that had enough knobs for EQ and Panning would be great.

Just saw I have a spare Xenyx Q1202 analog mixer from Behringer, has a USB out, would this work?

Ah okay! Thanks for the heads up, looks like I need to shell out for a new one then. Annoyingly the mixer used in the Perfect Circuit video I was looking at as the label covered lol.

      It's a Novation Launchcontrol.

Did you find anything you’re liking? I’ve been using an old novation remote zero sl and honestly, it’s great. I’m afraid it’s on its last leg though and am looking for recommendations.

There’s a few MIDI controllers that fit the bill and can be mapped to bluebox controls using MIDI learn

At the high the Faderfox MX12 looks great, but costs more than the Bluebox itself. http://www.faderfox.de/mx12.html

The Korg Nanokontrol studio is smaller and more affordable, but doesn’t have the same quality feel as the Faderfox stuff. https://www.korg.com/uk/products/com...ontrol_studio/

I’ve not used it, but assume the Novation Launch Control XL would work well, but is pretty big https://novationmusic.com/en/launch/launch-control-xl

Launch Control XL is ideal. I initially used one, switched to a NanoKontrol for its tiny size, then switched back to the XL. This was mainly because the stiffer, longer sliders suit the Bluebox which is a nightmare to fine control as you approach 0db - the NanoKontrol just couldn't achieve subtleties in volume. The knobs are also great for sends, internal fx etc. Plus you have several (8?) user banks so you could control even more stuff, provided you don't mind parameter jumps or sacreficing dedicated slider/knob per control action. I's on the large size, but you still probably wouldn't find a 12 in 6 out mixer for the combined size of the BB and the XL!
