  • BitBox audio distortion

    Hello,
I wonder if other users experience what sounds like digital distortion on the audio outputs whilst replaying normalised audio files?
i have tried both pairs of outputs...compressor off on 1&2...and experimented with the gain control.
The same files play very nicely on my other machines with no distortion.
There seems to be a threshold which I haven’t yet determined above which the audio distorts.
This makes my working practices a little awkward as I use shared files amongst my sample playback machines.
Does anyone have any ideas beyond not normalising my files?
    Aaron?
    Thank you so much.
Other than this slight problem...what a fabulous machine.

I'm not aware of any generic problems like this one. What format are you using for your WAV files? Can you post a test file?

      Hello Aaron,
I owe you an apology for not having investigated my problem sufficiently>
The distorted files all featured snippets of a live Rhodes which has some jangly artifacts at about 2.5 - 3k.
The D to As on the BitBox exacerbated the distortion whereas my other machines caused less pronunciation.
Thank you for having come back so quickly to me.
It must simply be a function of the “sound” of the different machines’ DACs.
      Many thanks,
      Julian
