Simple, cheap solution:

Connect IOS devices like an iPad using the Belkin Rockstar Aux USB cable to the Blackbox.

Garden-variety USB to 3.5mm adapters “signal” to the iPad or iPhone that a pair of headphones are being connected. The signal level drops too low.

The Belkin Aux cable produces a consumer-line-level signal, which can work for the Blackbox. Use AUM to route the built-in mic out to the USB.

Dove Anthony do you use the headphone output of the Meteor to feed the Blackbox?

The Belkin Rockstar USB-C Aux cable does in fact cause my iPad to output an acceptable signal to Blackbox.

I say “acceptable” because it’s clearly on the low side. It’s good enough for adding voice to a composition while I’m traveling.
