  • Blackbox carry case

Anyone landed on any decent cases that work? Going to start pickin around for something. Or any word of an official case coming?

I was thinking of laser cutting a nice wood box for Blackbox travel...

We might do a case in the future but we haven’t started designing or selecting one.

What would you want the case to hold? Power cord? Headphones? Or just the actual box itself?

I’ll probably get a pelican but if I were to buy one I’d want one with enough room to include my mpd218 too.

I suppose it would be ideal to have it house what you’d likely be bringing for it at a performance or during travel - the breakout cables, usb, aux. cable, micro-sd... Would be nice to have to something tough that could take a fall, but with a shoulder strap optional. Compact enough/contoured like the unit itself, so it could stow into a bag if desired.

If you are in the US and there is a Harbor Freight near your location: https://www.harborfreight.com/3800-W...-In-63927.html
They have a few other sizes as well and are reasonably priced.

Thanks for the tip! I ordered one of these cases and it does fit well. Here's a photo. It holds the blackbox, the power cord, some earbuds, the wall wart for power, a MIDI adapter, a TRS cable, a microSD card case and a microSD card adapter. Very nice!

So I actually got this case for my Akai MPK mini, but wasn't using it much and it's a perfect fit for the sampler and a couple extras: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I use the same recorder too! H4n by Zoom! I thought I was the only one!

you're not alone! zoom is great for recording stuff. I use it for so many things including making my own samples or recording mixes out of my mixer

Would be nice to have a case that can hold the Blackbox and on the side or bottom, a battery pack and some cable management. Of course the case would make the Blackbox ports on the back as much available as possible.

Then you could ideally design a rectangular 10000 mah battery pack that contains one or a couple of small speakers for this to become a real OTG experience.
