Distortion when adjusting pad volume with midi controller

I have mapped the encoders on my Launchkey Mini mk3 to the pad volumes. I set the volume of the pad to be around -60db since then the encoders will be able to turn the full range approximately. When turning down the volume at some points the sound distorts / aliases - is this common behaviour or just something i'm experiencing?

It is not common. Are you using stock content or other content? How much pitch-shifting are you using on the affected pads?
