I have the same: right input is around 20 dB more noisy than left input and it makes no difference if something is put in or not. This happens with every power supply, cable or battery that I have tested.

It’s counterintuitive, but for many (most?) devices, inputs are noisier when nothing is connected to them. Connect a sound source to the input and see what happens.

    Noise on right input channel?

When I go to record on a pad, in the default settings, even without the audio input connected, I see the noise floor (approx):

    -86db
    -54db

How come there is 32 db more noise on one channel? What can I do about it?
