im firing off pads from the cirklon but if it say pad E1 on the bb then i need to specify E2 on the cirklon to make it work. any ideas guys as to why cirklon is an octave above on this???

There's no standard, but things generally fall under either a Yamaha or Roland numbering system. https://computermusicresource.com/midikeys.html

It's been a while since I tinkered with the manual but there is a mention of the convention Cirklon uses:
note
Sets the MIDI note to be played
C0 to G#10
(MIDI notes 0 to 127)
What it doesn't do is point out there is no standard here, just convention. There are other mentions of it in the manual, for example when talking about the CV output settings. If I work on it again sometime I'll try and remember to add something. People will still ask, of course.
