As I mentioned in the edited part of the post, I have already tried that. Thanks though.

Yes. I read the post. My response does not change. These issues are 98% caused by power.

    Cool.
I appreciate your support here, but I'm a little confused. As I had already done what you suggested in your post, but you now say that your post still stands.

I tried the BB powered with the power supply unit supplied with the BB. It's actually the first time I have ever needed to do so - I've been mightily impressed at the portability of this little box of wonders and use it with a Dreadbox Typhon, which can also be powered by USB; they make for quite a pair!

No doubt you and your team know heaps more about the device than me, that is clear, I'm just trying to get it working again. The problem may well be caused by power, I've done what has occurred to me to be appropriate as regards power, to no avail.
My reason for posting was that you previously said "We know there is an issue and are investigating."

Any further suggestions would be welcome.

I wish I had more to share. We have been trying to reproduce this for some time with no luck. After 3 years of supporting our products, I see patterns in the reports. While I cannot 100% say that your issue - or this particular issue - is power. I know that most of these types of reports are power related. It is also frustrating for me because I would prefer you have a better experience using the LCXL with your blackbox.

Show us the actual cable and wall adapter next. Our cable is a plain black cable and easily confused with most other black cables (we understand this). Show the wall adapter and its specs.

I would like nothing more than to solve this particular issue. It drives us all mad.

Steve Absolutely no worries. It's just disappointing - I'm not doing gigs with it or anything
I can imagine it being quite frustrating trying to troubleshoot all the things that can go wrong with such a complex device, especially on the internet!

I'll keep at it and if I make any progress with the issue will certainly let you know/ update this thread.

    Thanks and greetings from Barcelona

I've tried other USB cables for both USB Power -> Blackbox as well as Blackbox -> LCXL, no luck with any firmware from 2.1.0. onwards.
Using firmware 2.0.0, it's working fine with all USB cable permutations I could come up with.

Steve - any news on this issue?

Has it been solved with FW 3.0 (2.9.1)?

We believe we found the issue with the LCXL. This was not an easy find but the fix was not complicated. So far, we have only addressed this with the bluebox (as of yesterday) in 1.2.15. The difficulty with blackbox is that we cannot see the issue on our end. I don't doubt it is related. We are still working on the 3.0 beta so we have not yet applied this fix to blackbox. Once we have a stable 3.0 release, we will again look at this and address it in the best way possible.

Assuming it is the exact same issue, it is much easier to see this on the bluebox. And it has nothing to do with power. The blue and black are different in that the bluebox updates its UI when you move a control on the LCXL - the blackbox does not. So it is more obvious on the bluebox. Thanks for your patience.

Ok seems like there is progress happening.
What time frame dictates a ‘stable’ firmware release?
Been eagerly awaiting for a fix on this issue so people can eventually utilise the LCXL to its fullest potential with the BlackBox.
The feature to be able to select ‘banks’ eg. Another 8 pads to then use the faders accordingly, stop, start etc. Even the ability to record from a one button push would serve more than useful! It would create a highly dependable midi and sampling control combination!! Look forward to hearing more on this as there are more than a few people whom are awaiting a successful resolve.

                Dear all,

Please try blackbox 3.0.1 with the Launch Control. We did update the USB stack and hope it is working better.

Thanks Aaron … will provide some feedback once I’ve loaded it up to see how it goes with the LCXL.

3.0.1 seems to have addressed the issues with the LCXL! Huzzah!

I've only just updated, so I'm reserving my absolute joy, but thanks for the continued support Steve and Aaron!

                      Ok new firmware loaded ….
They seem to be talking to each other now …
Although when using a fader to reduce volume … it doesn’t register no volume. It still retains some volume when faded wall the way down.
Also my Arturia KeyStep on 29th key it sets off the next pad to record. My BB is connected to via TRS midi In to CCRM Out - maybe there is something not quite right with the parched connections. My keyboard is definitely not directly connected via midi to the BB (slave to Elektron Digitakt Master clock)
Still playing around with it …

Found some other interesting things …
                        Ive now changed some settings,
TOOLS > Clock > MIDI In: Midi Port
TOOLS > MIDI > Global In: Ch 13 (Chose a random channel to use)

If I have SONG > SONG mode selected, the activated Pad with a Clip won’t begin in sync with Digitakt as master clock - but only turn off being active. So I then deselected the SONG > Song mode and tried again … now functions when activated to sync.

Regarding the volume issue, you might try lowering the volume/ LEVEL of that pad in the MIX or on the pad MAIN tab to such a volume that you cannot hear it at all. I find that something around -60db is low enough to eliminate it from the mix. Then adjust the fader. Also make sure that the CC amount is set to 100% to get the broadest range.

Of course, when you are _not_ using the LCXL, you'll have to turn such pads back up in order to hear anything.
