Recording settings per pad: clip mode

I want to use my blackbox for live looping, recording clips and clearing sample pads to rerecord. I set up my pads to record clips that immediately start looping. However, when I clear a pad, all settings I programmed are lost and when I record on that pad again it just produces a sample pad that then doesn’t start playing and looping immediately. It’s sooooo close to doing what I want to do but this resetting of parameters drives me insane.

I have rec settings to ‘per pad’ and still it loses all settings once the pad is cleared. Is there a way to lock these settings in place? I just want anything I sample in this preset to just loop immediately, also after I clear a pad and sample again.

    Hi...
    look at this
Hi, I recently submitted a post in Support section but, after a search in the forum, I discovered that my issues were not real issues…I was taking for granted some features that are actually not present in the software :) And I also discovered that a lot of other users are asking for the same features... So I try here,

I think your request has something in common with mine...

I supported your credit wish list item, though I thought that setting up a preset template as the manual suggests would be saved even through clearing a pad. To me it feels like a bug right now, because upon clearing a pad it reverts to global settings even though you disabled global recording configuration.

for live improvisation and performance, having the preset rigid and being free to clear and sample pads is crucial.

indeed, that could be interpreted as a bug, maybe the clear function should adapt its behaviour based on the global setting

This is not a bug. CLR will reset the pad settings. However, we are looking at the way CUT vs CLR works to make adjustments. Thanks for the input

Ah that would be great. Will CUT be executable by midi? Because having CLEAR reset pad settings and CUT not addressable by MIDI would really hamper live looping using midi. After recording 16 loops you’ll be forced to lose pad settings. Unless you plan to include sound on sound overdubbing

I can't say that we have a blueprint just yet but I would guess CLR might get a different treatment since it is part of the MIDI recording process.

Has been implemented in the MIDI update for firmware 3.0? If CLR would retain the set parameters of the pad it would greatly upgrade the functionality of the blackbox for MIDI recording and looping!
