Resample through onboard compressor

Looks like the manual provides the answer:

Resampling happens after the compressor is applied. If you use RESAM
as a source when the compressor is on, the amplitude of your new
recording will be a few dB lower. Turn off the compressor on the TOOLS
page to avoid this drop in amplitude.

Does resampling into a pad pass the sound through the compressor? if not, how to get an audio file through this compressor onboard? I wonder if this is possible at all. Else, I will record the output to another device.
