Considering a Blackbox but read a couple of reports where people complained it was too easy to hit the processing limits. I understand that running a lot of granulations would do that - I have no intention of using it that way - but want to know if people have run into similar problems just arranging layers of samples etc? TY.

The CPU is still plenty powerful enough. You will run into issues if you do not power the box properly. Often, people toss the factory power cable into a box and use a generic printer cable. Printer cables are not meant to carry power and do not provide enough for the blackbox. Use a proper wall adapter and USB cable, and you will be ok. We sanction the DJ Tech Tools Chroma Cable and the Oyiade d+ cables. Next, make sure you use a quality microSD card. We recommend the SanDisk Extreme Pro A2 card in any size for the blackbox. 64GB works well for most. Finally, use 24/48k wav files. The DAC is 24/48. The device can playback any combination, but loading many files that are not 24/48 will cause the CPU to do extra (unnecessary) work. You can push the blackbox pretty hard if you follow these few guidelines.👍 1 -
Thanks Steve. Points noted.
Q - I mostly want it for the portability so would like to be able to run it from a usb power pack like I do with my nanoboxes. Is that possible?
