  • Some thoughts on the Slicer

So, while the automatic slicing ( scan/grid ) works well enough for beats, you really have to manually slice vocal chop, and that's where the current tools need help:
    1. Using the top/left encoder to pick the slice, doesn't actually move the playback head to be where the slice starts. It does if you play the slice once, but should jump while selecting the slice. it would be great if the slice picker would allow you to
    2. There is no way to manually adjust the slice positions, so the workflow right now is to continuously slice/join until you get the right spot. It would be nice to have an encoder assigned to the slice position, as well as showing the slice position in samples ( like the regular mode )
    3. Going back and forth between the Keyboard Slice view and slice editing is annoying, because you always have to navigate back to the right spot. this makes auditing and testing the process very tedious (this is a general issue with the interface, we need to have a way to temporarely go to another page and come back to where we were, without re-navigating from the default page of that section)
    4. It would be nice to see the slices in the waveform overview as well as having the current slice be a different color
    5. Can we get control over the playback direction of the slice ( with assignment so we can set a MIDI CC or whatever to invert some of the slices )

        +1 this all makes sense.

for the invert, this could be a cc mappable virtual button on the sceen.
