    Re-Designed FX screen

Recently I started using Koala Sampler, iMPC and iMPC 2 Pro and after spending the last 3 years using the Blackbox, I am really hoping this device can get some feature updates that can bring it up to speed with apps that cost a fraction of the price of the BB.

The FX page on the Blackbox is one area that really needs some addressing. Here's a few changes I'd like to see happen:

    1. Move reverb and delay sends to a new FX tab on the individual pad info page, add controls for distortion and EQ to there as well
    2. Add more FX - Beat Repeat, Stutter, Phaser, Flanger, Bit Crush, Ring Modulator to name a few
    3. Make the default FX page a performance tool - a grid of buttons like Koala Sampler where each effect is accessible from the main FX page as a slider, add buttons to toggle HOLD for each effect
    4. Allow changing the order of the individual fx in the chain. Koala has this and its a really powerful feature
    5. The the X/Y view that you get when you double tap the FX button a tab on the FX page and allow the user to assign what fx are in each quadrant
    6. add a tab that allows for selecting the type of fx that is being used - reverb types, delays, filter, etc
    7. Save the state of the FX screen with the project data - I want to be able to hit the FX tab and the BB remembers what tab I was on last

Adding some robust FX features would give the Blackbox some real power. To add to #2: I would point to Launchpad on iOS as an elegant way to add beat reapat/gate/stutter effects on a touch screen. changing the order of effects would be huge, assuming more were available.

Again, a choice of FX would be great. I'm more about something like an overdrive or distortion to add grit rather than rhythmic FX. Utilising the screen as an X/Y pad could be interesting. I said in another FX post ( there are many), I don't mind two slots but a choice of FX would be useful.

There are a lot of threads in this forum (including of mine) asking for more FX on the Blackbox.

If I may, I remind also my previous post : Blackbox "punch-in FX" implementation.

So definitely this request cannot be ignored, and probably should be in the priorities for next releases now.

But I guess if we want the Blackbox for more than live situations, automation recording either on the SEQ or the SONG sections level will be necessary.

I wouldn't get your hopes up. See the end of this thread

I had seen it actually, but I am optimistic by nature

For now, the Korg NTS-1 is a great device to pair it with. In a paradigm where the source sounds are designed then sampled from the NTS-1 as loops along with their FX.
