  • Frequent Lock Ups with FW 1.2.15

    FW: 1.2.15
Ports used: all inputs, output 1
Types of lockups: full freeze, screen and all audio, or just screen, with audio continuing to work
Activity leading to lockup: it's only happened while I was away from it, both fully idle and with audio going through it continuously. It has not happened while I was using it. EDIT: same evening that I posted this it locked up during use. Audio continued to play, screen and buttons became unresponsive. I also noticed something I didn't before: all the white buttons lit up brightly instead of the active one being bright and the rest being dim.
Frequency: I'd say roughly half the days since 1.2.15 installation a little over a week ago, sometimes 2 or 3 times in a day. Some days not at all.
Power supply/cable: the ones that shipped from the factory
Additional potentially pertinent details: no noise or screeching, etc. from any outputs when this happens. On at least one occasion it happened with the screen asleep. The unit is the main mixer for a patch bay and has all inputs occupied. MIDI is not used.No recording was happening.

I know 1.2.15 is considered pretty stable, so please let me know if there's anything else I can provide that might be useful, and I hope that anyone else experiencing this also chimes in.

    Thanks for your time!

So after weeks of patient and helpful back and forth with 1010 tech support, it turned out to be the factory USB cable. Replaced with Chroma Cable (as per another thread in this forum) and all's good. Noise floor also dropped quite a bit. See video below.

Interesting. I am experiencing the very same type of behavior with a machine I just picked up. So does the usb cable have to be a specific brand or just a basic type b?

You must use a USB cable that is made to carry power. Regular printer cables do not meet its requirement. The. bluebox needs at least 2A @ 5V or you will have issues.
