  • Maximum volume per track?

I think it would be useful if we could set a maximum volume per track so that when using a midi controller we can just slam a fader up to max and it only go as loud as the preset max volume.

Can't you do that by reducing track gain first, so that at max volume the track is as loud as you want?

I mean, set the track volume at max, then go to the gain control, and reduce it until is sound as loud as you like. Now you can't go louder than that while adjusting your volume fader.

PS: I don't own a Bluebox yet, I just subscribed to the forum because I'm evaluating purchasing one.

Technically you could but to me the sound isn’t the best that way as your input gains aren’t set where they sound best.

Actually I’m going to play around with this more. The issue is I think maximum levels on the Bluebox are +6db which is obviously not where you want to be living. However I can limit the range of the fader within the editor for my midi controller, so I’m going to try maybe sending 100 as the maximum level rather than 127 and then balance the channels with the gains.

          This is your best option.

Cheers Steve, I’ll have a play with this method and see how I get on. Appreciate the reply.
