  • Mixer view GUI update and other thoughts

While performing on my last show. I started to miss some features on the Bluebox. I have read the forum and seen that some features overlap also with other users.
What I would like to see is more info on the mixer view. It was hard to understand which track was cued and witch wasn't. I have all the tracks in record mode so the whole mixer layout is red. I did a quick mockup of the mixer layout that I would like to see. On a track I would like to see the cue indicator and rec indicator and little bit les red on the armed track.

Track 1 - record is armed and cue is armed.
    Track 2 - is muted
    Track 3 - normal state
Track 4 - Cue is armed and track is clipping
Track 5 - record is armed
Track 6 - record is armed and track is muted
Track 7 - solo is armed and cue is armed.
    Track 8 - normal state
Track M - record is armed and cue is armed.

Also the solo should be changeable to Cue mode.

Another points that I would like to see implemented.
    • Change fader curve - channel volume mapped to midi controller faders are usable only on the top part and small changes on the fader will result big changes in audio.
    • Cue switch for master channel. I would like to quickly change which track I would like to hear in cue channel includeing master channel.
    • Midi out to controller- using the launchcontrol XL I would like to map the bottom buttons to cue and mute and see them light up on the controller.

I fully agree, the current recording indicator is visually way too heavy. It's needlessly "alarming". I your markup I guess the channel strips with the red background are leftovers from the original design? And what do the channel names with red font on grey background indicate? Looks a bit confusing.

This is an annoying thing indeed and it has already has been discussed. Please make sure to add your voice to the according thread here as well.

Sorry, my bad, should have done this in the first post, Track names also show the state of the track, some functions are same as now - I added the explanations under the picture.

These are just my first thoughts of the track states and maybe I am missing some.
most of the time I am arming Rec and Cue on the mixer and want to hear the master also, when I am preparing the next part to come in.

Thanks for the explanation. In this case I'd simplify it even more and leave the track name grey because the information is redundant with the record/cue labels in place.

Maybe you are right. I felt that armed tracks should be little bit more visible, but maybe the small indicators are enough.
I changed it on the mockup also.
