I don't quite understand the ratchet feature at the moment. All other drum machines I've ever used which have ratchet features allow you to specify on which steps to use the ratchet—otherwise the note plays normally. Having it always ratchet doesn't really help, especially when trying to be conservative with the 8 pads on Razzmatazz. Being able to specify the steps where ratchet is on and off would help immensely in making interesting beats.
