    or maybe as as an option when recording. default to audio recording as to not bother anyone but with some option of marking it as a dc(cv, gate) recording when necessary.

    That is the intended behavior. We assume the signal is audio and should be mirrored. Granted, that is not ideal for DC. In terms of blasting your speakers, the typical audio mixer is AC coupled and would avoid that for you.

    CV signals are "mirrored" visually?

    When I record a CV pattern or gate pattern into the bitbox, the waveform is visualized as being bipolar unless I zoom in really closely. Is this preferred behavior for some reason? Wouldn't I want to know that it is a DC waveform so I don't accidentally plug it into an audio output and blast my speaker cones?
