Envelopes as trigger?

I am using the slicer function but I cannot seem to get the slices to play through in a long enough format to not sound "clicky" I tried using an external envelop at the gate input, but it doesn't seem to be triggering the sample. Any advice?

I think you have to rely on the internal envelope if you want to soften the attack... That's the real solution.

But you could probably utilize the 'DSR portion of an external envelope by mapping it to Level, and then setting mode to Trigger. The pad won't actually trigger unless/until the external envelope goes high enough.
