    MIDI routing

    Hello together,

I am using the bitbox micro together with a hermod from squarp.
    Which is working very well.

Is there a way to use a multisample on one pad and 1x samples on the other pads without triggering the multisample?
I have set up the "midi pads" midi channel (under the tools menu) to ch1 (or omni), the "midi in" under the config menu of the multisample pad to midi ch2.
Still the multisample pad gets triggered if it recieves a note for the appropriate pad position (e.g. c2, if multisample is assigned to the left rear pad).

    Thanks in advance,
    best sebastian

I would need more info about the devices sending MIDI to the box, on which channel, etc. It can be easy to create overlapping MIDI assignments when using both global and per-pad settings. Check out this video for a slightly deeper dive into MIDI routing on the Micro. If you can describe all MIDI sending to the Micro and from where, channel, etc I can help you figure it out.

      Hi Steve,

      thank you for your reply.

      E.g. the following setup:

Global "MIDI Pads: Ch 1" (same behavior like described below if I use "Omni" instead of "Ch 1")
      Global "MIDI Keys: none"

Sample on 1st row 1st Pad (Note number 40) with per-pad "MIDI In: None"
Multisample on 1st row 2nd Pad (Note number 41) with per-pad "MIDI In: Ch 2"

Playing Note 40 on Ch2 does not trigger Sample on Pad with Note number 40 as expected.

Playing any Note on Ch2 triggers only the Multisample as expected.

Playing Note 41 on Ch1 triggers Multisample, but I thought this should not trigger the Multisample.

      Thanks again and in advance,
      sebastian

I think this is default behaviour - i.e. a pad will always be triggered by the Global setting even when it is set to a different MIDI channel. The workaround I was given (I believe by @Steve) was to set the Pad Note from Default to C#-1 on the pad I didn't want to be 'falsely' triggered.

Did you change the pad Note for your pads?

        No, I didn't.

row 1 = the bottom row. row 2 = the top row. That was part of the confusion. It does look like you have overlapping MIDI assignments as g.r.u.m states above.

Hi steve and g.r.u.m. thanks, now the behaviour is clear.
