Bitbox Micro High pitch noise / whine

Is it expected for the Bitbox micro to emit a fair amount of high pitch noise (not through its output, just powering on and leaving idle)

I’ve tried it in two different cases and found the same issue with a high pitch whine. (Will try and record it with a mic for reference)

Depending on the brightness setting you may hear something. Please open up the tools menu and try changing the brightness,

I get more noise at 0% Brightness, but all other brightness levels appear to give a consistent whine from > 0% -> 100%.

It does tend to be a bit like a toddler, noisy and prone to whining. Mine has always had a flickery display too. I regret being too busy to return it to the shop within the timeframe, so I could spend the money on something more... finished. Still, it's what I've got now, guess I'm stuck with it

When did you purchase your micro?

Hmm, email says.. early 2021 from Juno UK. It's intermittent, the noise has happened in a Doepfer and a Make Noise case, with different numbers of modules and no real pattern to it. The flickering is pretty easy to provoke though.

You should contact us directly and share your serial number with us. We might be able to help.

Cheers Steve, but heaven alone knows how much time and money I'd lose shipping it to and from the USA, even if you did manage an incredibly fast turn-around.I don't have any similar devices to fill its role meantime either.

I should have been less disorganised and returned it at the time- lesson learned. The next time I buy a sampler, I shall be a little more attentive to it during the cooling-off period

We have a repair facility outside of the US. Please reconsider

I have also noticed the whine. It doesn’t bother me though. Interested to try the brightness setting..

I have the same problem. Whine goes away under 40% brightness
